Extremely disappointing experience — would not recommend. Paid over $8k for packing and moving. 4 times more than what was quoted for a 2 bedroom condo.
I hired Summit for what should have been a straightforward packing and moving job from a two bedroom condo to a storage facility less than a mile away. The process was unprofessional from start to finish.
The team arrived hours late every single day. They showed up on Day 1 with only one packer and one mover instead of the two packers promised, and they brought no packing materials, no TV boxes, no mattress bags, and no tools — they even used my personal tools. Because of this, packing was not completed on schedule and created a cascading delay.
Every single day continued with incorrect staffing, missing supplies, and late arrivals, which forced me to continuously rebook the freight elevator and incur additional time and cost. Multiple pieces of furniture were not wrapped properly and ended up damaged, including a bent 59 inch monitor arm and scuffed furniture.
The most concerning issue was misrepresentation of overnight storage. I was told my belongings would remain in a secure gated facility, but a tracking device showed the company truck parked overnight at a private residence. When I raised concerns to management, I was told they could unload my belongings at the dock and leave everything there if I didn’t continue.
Overall, the service was nowhere near what was advertised. Poor communication, lack of preparation, unsafe handling of property, and questionable storage practices. I would not use this company again and cannot recommend them to others.
After having a bad experience in the past with another company, I spent lots of time interviewing moving companies over the phone. I talked to Wesley from Summit quite a few times, and he was super professional and answered all my questions. I just knew I would have a better experience, but sadly, I did not. Because of the timing of the move, my family was affected by the government shutdown. This gave me a limited budget to work with. I discussed this with the movers, and we made a plan to move the heaviest furniture first and stay within the 3 hours minimum. Near the end of the 3 hours, my furniture and boxes were still on the truck. At that point, I was forced to pay them for 2 extra hours to unload. I mentioned many times my budget and the time frame. I think 3 hours would have been plenty if the 3rd mover would have shown up, but he did not bother to call the movers or the company. If we had 3 movers, we probably could have moved most of it in 3 hours. I had to ask where the 3rd person was. They offered to send another person, but this was an hour and a half after they started. It would have taken them until the end of the 3 hours for someone to arrive at my house. If I had known then that it would have taken 5 hours, I probably would have said yes. I also had to ask for a reduced rate because I did not get what I was promised. One of the guys gave me a waiver to sign so that we didn't have to wrap the furniture with shrink wrap because we were just moving a few houses down. In my haste, I did not realize that I was signing away my right to make a claim for damages. I signed it, but the waiver was also misrepresented to me. In moving, two of my pieces were damaged and the damage had nothing to do with not having shrink wrap. I called several times afterward to speak with Wesley about this, but he was unavailable each time. I will say that the guys did work the entire 5 hours that they were at my home and were very pleasant to be around. Overall, the lack of customer service and concern is disappointing, and I will not be able to recommend them in the future.
3rd time i have used them and I could not be happier I have used them for local moves and city to city moves. I love the flat rate for city to city. And there movers are always the nicest and more energetic people put there. I was lucky to get the same team twice. Cameron, Eldelmo and the third helper were amazing, yet again if they are delivering your stuff your are very lucky.
I was told one price a the change me way more for a simple move… the guys that did the moving was great and quick…. They definitely got over on me on the pricing…. I probably would not use them again only based on that
I had a wonderful experience with Summits moving crew ! Will was super nice and made me feel at ease with everything. Charles and the other gentlemen were super helpful as well. I highly reccomend them!! I had a small move and was also worried about pricing but I believe it was super affordable, And they handled everything with care and moved very quickly. I will definitely be using their services again in the future.
