Midlothian is a southwestern Texas suburb best known for its historical ties to the railroad. The land remained mostly marshy farmland until paved roads made the area more accessible and better suited for commercial needs. Incorporated in 1927, the village is known for the Midlothian Country Club, a private golf course that opened in 1898 and was annexed by Midlothian in the early 1960’s.
