Get to know Riverside, IL
The affluent suburb of Riverside lies 9 miles west of Chicago. It was one of the first planned communities of the United States, designed in 1869 by Frederick Law Olmsted. It is known for the Riverside Landscape Architecture District which was named a National Historic Landmark in 1970. The village saw continual growth through the 1960’s, but has since seen a declining and aging population.
