Get to know Montgomery, IL
The far western suburb of Montgomery is located roughly 45 miles from Chicago. The area began to be settled in 1832, and in 1835 the founder of Montgomery, Daniel S. Gray, moved from New York with his family. The Gray family owed many companies in the community and were involved in village politics once Montgomery was incorporated in 1858. Each year the village enjoys Montgomery Fest in August, which includes carnival activities, food, and fireworks. The village grew steadily throughout the 1900’s, but since 2000 has witnessed a massive increase in the population
