Get to know Highland Park, IL

Highland Park is an affluent Lake County suburb about 25 miles north of Chicago.  It is home to the Ravinia Festival, an open-air pavilion which hosts summer concerts.  Famous homes also dot the landscape, including Frank Lloyd Wright’s Willits House as well as the Ben Rose House which was featured in the film Ferris Bueller’s Day Off.  The city’s close proximity to practice facilities used by the Chicago Bears and Bulls has made it a popular community for professional athletes to live in.  The most notable resident was Michael Jordan, who listed his 56,000 square foot house for $21 million, but failed to find a buyer.  Highland Park’s population has been somewhat stagnate since the 1970’s, but has experienced some population loss in recent years.
