Get to know Brookfield, IL
Brookfield is a near west Chicago suburb in Cook County. It is home to the Brookfield Zoo, which is built on land donated by Edith Rockefeller McCormick, as well as the largest arcade in the United States, the Galloping Ghost Arcade. Brookfield also has a number of public access points to fish on Salt Creek, a feeder stream for the Des Plaines River. Brookfield has maintained a fairly stable population since the 1960’s. Those moving out of Brookfield often leave because of a job change.
