Get to know Lynwood, CA
Lynwood is a Los Angeles County city located in the southern portion of the Los Angeles Basin. It was incorporated in 1921. It was named for Mrs. Lynn Wood Sessions, who was the wife of local dairyman Charles Sessions. The Pacific Electric Railway built a station in the area in 1917 that was named after Sessions’ dairy. It is the hometown of “Weird Al” Yankovic. Other notable residents have included Venus Williams and Kevin Costner.
