Get to know Diamond Bar, CA
The land that is now Diamond Bar was originally a large ranch, Rancho Los Nogales, owned by Ricardo Vejar. When the United States acquired California, the land was divided and sold as smaller ranches. The largest of these was the Diamond Bar Ranch, one of the largest working cattle ranches in the western United States. In the 1950’s the Diamond Bar Ranch was purchased by the Transamerica Corporation who wanted to develop one of the first master-planned communities. In addition to keeping the name, the Transamerica Corporation also included the brand into various logos that have remained in use to this day. The town quickly grew in the second half of the 20th century as homes were completed. Ultimately Transamerica Corporation divested all its real estate ventures and the initial master plan was not implemented. The city was incorporated in 1989. The top employers in Diamond Bar are the South Coast Air Quality Management District and the Walnut Valley Unified School District. Famous residents have included Alex Morgan and Snoop Dogg.
