Get to know Chino, CA
The City of Chino is located in San Bernardino County. The town was founded on the Spanish Rancho Santa Ana del Chino. It saw the Battle of Chino during the Mexican-American War. The area was a popular stop for travelers during the California Gold Rush before being incorporated in 1910. Located in the Chino Valley, the rich soil made the city an agricultural mecca in the 20th century. The dairy industry flourished beginning in the 1950’s, serving as an agricultural center and dairy hub for the southwestern United States. It has since become a suburban city. The top employers include the Chino Valley Unified School District, the California Institution for Men, and the California Institution for Women. Notable attractions include the Planes of Fame and Yanks Air Museums.
