Get to know Carson, CA

The City of Carson is the youngest municipality in Los Angeles’s South Bay area.  It was incorporated in 1968.  Oil was discovered in the area in 1921, and the city grew as people were attracted to the jobs offered by the oil industry.  Today, the major employers include Prime Wheel Corporation and See’s Candy Shops Inc.  The city is the home of the Los Angeles Galaxy of MLS and the Los Angeles Chargers of the NFL.  Notable residents have included Forest Whitaker and Brandy.
