Get to know Baldwin Park, CA

Baldwin Park is known as the birthplace of In-N-Out burger.  The city began as cattle grazing land for the San Gabriel Mission before becoming a ranch.  In 1860 the community called itself Vineland, before becoming Baldwin Park in 1906.  It was named after Elias J. “Lucky” Baldwin.  The original In-N-Out stand opened in 1948.  It was California’s first drive-thru.  The largest employers in Baldwin Park include Kaiser Permanente and UPS.
