The Village of Wheeling is a northern suburb of Chicago, about 30 miles from the city's downtown. Wheeling was incorporated in 1894 and was originally started as an overnight stop for travelers coming from Chicago. The trail of inns and eateries for these travelers eventually evolved into Wheeling's modern-day Restaurant Row. In the 1960s Wheeling became a center for industry and commerce, and the city has thrived ever since.
