Get to know Westminster, CO

Westminster is an Orange County city in the Los Angeles metro area.  It was founded in 1870 as a Presbyterian temperance colony by Rev. Lemuel Webber.  It was named in honor of the Westminster Assembly of 1643.  It was was used as farmland, but farmers refused to harvest grapes because they were associated with the production of alcohol.  Westminster was incorporated as a city in 1957.  The top employers are the Westminster School District, Southern California Edison, and Ito Farms.
