South Beach (also nicknamed SoBe for short) is one of Miami’s trendiest neighborhoods for those seeking exciting nightlife and eclectic people. SoBe is in the gorgeous resort city of Miami Beach, but helps make up the larger Miami metropolitan area. Those visiting South Beach will most likely be drawn to the Art Deco architecture and multitude of shops, restaurants, and cabarets. With pedestrian-friendly streets, South Beach is a popular place to ride bikes and soak up the warm south Florida weather.
With Miami, and South Beach in particular, being one of the best areas for nightlife, the bar and craft brewery scene are some of the best in the country. You won’t run out of places to grab a frosty beverage in South Beach.
South Beach encompasses the 23 southernmost blocks on the island of Miami Beach; its northern boundary is Dade Boulevard from Lincoln Road on the bayside of the island and 23rd street on the ocean side. Its east-west boundaries are First Street and Lincoln Road between 16th and 17th.
